I wonder how that young boy’s mam got residency in Ireland?? If that you lad feels so strongly he or his sibling could always give back their Irish passport and return to the sunny climes of their origin.

The “Celtic Tiger”, whilst it brought great things to Ireland, it also brought arrogance, lack of ethics, we lost our good reputation for being hard workers and a nation of highely educated and pragmatic people. One thing that always annoys us Irish is when the English see an Irish person do well in the world, they nearly always try to declare him or her as one of their own yet when they pass them off as Irish(particuarily in the world of sport where that person is from the 6 counties yet has clearly and publicly made clear that he or she recognises themselves as Irish and hold a passport)

As for the rest of us, less of the self loathing, cause it may get worse before it gets better. Its, naturally not easy to appreciate right now, but there are people in worse situations all over the world. Did our parents, grandparents quit in their lives when things were ****e or an endless life of disappointment? **** no.
